As a clinical psychologist trained in systemic counseling and therapy, as well as emotionally focused couple therapy (EFT), I would like to support you on your personal journey. I have several years of clinical professional experience with people of various age groups, life stories, and relationship constellations. This experience has shown me that every person and family has a wealth of potential to overcome conflicts successfully. As a systemic therapist, I can help you identify and effectively use these resources. Creating a warm and trusting conversational atmosphere is very important to me. Especially when working with couples, I also incorporate elements of emotionally focused couple therapy (EFT) according to Sue Johnson.
I am a rainbow-friendly therapist and sensitive to specific issues and questions that can arise in living within LGBTQIA+ diversity. All life and relationship concepts are welcome here!
Systemic therapy for individuals
Systemic therapy is an accredited psychotherapy approach that assumes that social relationships (e.g. in partnership, family, friends, colleagues) have a major impact on the experience and behavior of every individual. Therefore, the entire "social system" of a client's relevant relationships is acknowledged in the therapeutic process. A central approach is to focus on resources and solutions instead of clinging to the problems. The aim is often to uncover (sometimes unconscious or hidden) strengths and potentials that are helpful to build up psychological resistance (= resilience). Sometimes two to three sessions are sufficient to reach this. In other cases, several sessions should follow in order to adapt a client's behaviour and integrate this into everyday life.

Couples Therapy
The reasons for seeking systemic couple therapy are as diverse as the individuals and couples themselves. Frequently, there are reoccurring arguments or discussions, and both or one side feels misunderstood. A sense of stagnation or a lack of "good" communication is often described. It can also be that infidelity or recurring thoughts of separation occur, or a couple experiences recurring dissatisfaction with their sexuality.
All these issues can be addressed in couples therapy. Support during a break-up process is also possible if a couple decides to take this path.
I am trained in two therapeutic approaches: Systemic Therapy and Emotionally Focused Couple Therapy (EFT according to Sue Johnson). The combination of both approaches offers a holistic treatment concept that unites the strengths of both methods.
Emotionally focused couple therapy (EFT) effectively helps to deeply understand entrenched, dysfunctional, and painful conflict patterns. Through deeply feeling and understanding one's own emotional processes and those of the partner, a completely new way of interacting can be developed. This is characterized by stronger connection, greater satisfaction, and deep trust between both partners.
Using methods from Systemic Therapy, I help couples by viewing their relationship as a complex system. Here, not only the individual behavior of each partner ins being analyzed, but the relationship is seen in the context of the entire social environment and mutual influences (family, children, work, etc.). This allows couples to better understand and change their behavior patterns, leading to improved communication and a stronger emotional connection.
